Our leasing office is conveniently located at 1988 North High Street, just across the street from North Campus, so you can easily stop by to check out Rambler for yourself.
To guarantee you make the most of your visit, we’ve created a guide detailing what to anticipate during your Rambler tour, how to prepare beforehand and what steps to take afterward.
Before Your Tour
Before visiting the leasing office, jot down your housing priorities. Have you chosen potential roommates? How many bedrooms will your group need? Any preferred views? Are private bathrooms a must or are you open to sharing? Having a clear idea of your housing preferences will tailor your tour to be more personalized, informative and efficient!
Here’s a list of things to consider:
- Price range
- Pets
- Parking
- Floor plan style (studio, 4×4, 6×6, etc.)
- Amenities
- Windows
- Bathrooms
Arrive prepared with a set of questions. Since this commitment spans an entire year, it’s important to do your research so you can gather all the information you need. To kickstart your brainstorming, we’ve assembled a list of questions specifically for your tour.
Booking a Tour
Once you’ve finalized your preferences and questions, schedule a tour at our leasing office! Pick any available date and time that suits your schedule; our calendar extends up to two weeks in advance!
If you’ve already selected roommates, coordinate to find a time slot that works for everyone. This makes the process smoother because it ensures everyone receives the same information. We currently offer both virtual and in-person tour options.
Plan for approximately an hour for this tour. While it might take less time if you’re clear on what you want, allocating an hour allows more time for questions, discussions with roommates and beginning your application!
Coming Into the Office
As you prepare for the tour, head over to our leasing office situated at 1988 North High Street, just across the street from North Campus. Upon arrival, our Leasing and Marketing Assistants (LMAs) will welcome you and guide you through the office, addressing any questions you may have!

Exploring the Leasing Office
As Rambler undergoes construction, we’ve mirrored its vibe in our leasing office design. Every furniture piece and finishing serves as an authentic depiction of the final property look. Our office showcases a model kitchen, complete with countertops, cabinets and appliances identical to those in your future unit.
Virtual Renderings
Following your tour of the leasing office, an LMA will guide you through a virtual tour of Rambler, showcasing exteriors, study floors and amenities. You’re encouraged to ask questions during this presentation; our team is dedicated to assisting you in every possible way!
Looking at Floor Plans
Following that, you’ll explore the floor plan renderings. This is the perfect moment to refer to the preferences list you prepared earlier! Your LMA will ask about your preferred floor plan types and will utilize your list to pinpoint the best unit for you. Since Rambler Columbus offers various floor plans, having your list handy will speed up this process!
You’ll discuss each floor plan that may work for you, assess its advantages and drawbacks and ultimately select a unit aligning with your preferences. It’s important to note that while there might not be a floor plan that checks every box, you should use your LMA’s expertise to discuss your concerns so they can help you find the most suitable unit.

Start Your Application
Once you’ve settled on the ideal floor plan, it’s time to start your application and reserve your unit. The application process typically takes about 10 minutes to finish, and you can conveniently complete it in the office using an iPad. This setup allows you to get clarification from our team for any questions that arise when you are completing the application.
Remember to bring your driver’s license or government ID for this step! For international students, I strongly advise completing the application in the office to address any potential questions.
Guarantor Information
In the application, you’ll be required to provide your guarantor’s details. A guarantor, often a parent or guardian, is someone who qualifies you to sign the lease. As most OSU students don’t meet the criteria based solely on their income and credit score, the guarantor assumes responsibility for the rental rate on your behalf.
Before starting the application, have a conversation with your guarantor and gather their information. Once you’ve completed your part of the application and lease, they’ll receive an email with their section to finalize.
Signing Your Lease
Upon completing the application, the next step is to sign your lease. Take time to review it while signing and feel free to ask questions during the process. Once you’ve completed the entire agreement, you’re a future Rambler Columbus resident! Congratulations!
I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect on a tour of Rambler, and how to make the most of your time! If you have any questions, or want to book a tour, contact the Rambler Columbus leasing team or stop by the leasing office!
